ATR chiude il 2025 con 60 ordini lordi, 50 netti, 1,2 miliardi di dollari di ricavi e 32 consegne. I numeri raccontano una realtà meno lineare di quanto sembri: il mercato regionale continua a chiedere capacità, ma l’apparato industriale non è ancora tornato a pieno regime. È un anno di transizione, non di espansione.
Il comunicato diffuso il 18 febbraio da Tolosa conferma che la domanda commerciale resta solida. Nove clienti in nove Paesi hanno firmato ordini per 60 aeromobili, con due contratti a doppia cifra che spiccano: 16 ATR 72-600 per Air Algérie e 19 per UNI Air. Gli ordini netti si fermano a 50 unità, portando il backlog oltre le 160 macchine. Non è un dato marginale. Significa che il portafoglio resta consistente in un segmento che molti davano in rallentamento strutturale.
Il punto però non è la domanda. Il punto è la produzione.
Nel 2025 ATR ha consegnato 32 aeromobili, al di sotto della guidance iniziale. Le cause sono le stesse che hanno colpito tutto il settore: tensioni nella supply chain e carenze di componenti chiave. La differenza è che, nel segmento regionale, i margini di manovra sono più stretti e ogni rallentamento pesa di più.
La CEO Nathalie Tarnaud Laude parla apertamente di anno di transizione e sottolinea che il successo non si misura su un singolo numero. È un messaggio che va letto tra le righe: il 2025 non è stato l’anno della crescita produttiva, ma quello della riorganizzazione interna. ATR dichiara di aver migliorato il flusso della Final Assembly Line, riaperto stazioni produttive e ridotto le carenze di parti a un terzo rispetto ai livelli di inizio anno. L’obiettivo ora è chiaro: +20% di consegne nel 2026 rispetto al 2025. Se questo incremento sarà centrato, significherà uscire definitivamente dalla fase di instabilità industriale.
Sul piano economico i numeri restano stabili. 1,2 miliardi di dollari di ricavi complessivi nel 2025. Ancora più interessante il dato sui servizi: 538 milioni di dollari, record storico per il customer support . È un segnale importante perché indica una flotta attiva, un mercato secondario dinamico e un ecosistema che genera ricavi oltre la vendita iniziale dell’aereo.
Non a caso il mercato dell’usato è stato particolarmente vivace, con oltre 90 transazioni registrate durante l’anno. In parallelo, 19 nuovi operatori sono entrati nell’ecosistema ATR. Leasing e remarketing stanno diventando leve strategiche in un contesto dove le consegne nuove sono limitate.
Geograficamente il 2025 segna anche alcune aperture significative. Negli Stati Uniti JSX ha avviato operazioni charter con ATR 42-600, mentre in Canada è stato certificato e consegnato il primo ATR -600 a Rise Air. Non è solo un’espansione commerciale: è una riaffermazione del turboprop in mercati maturi dove la pressione sui costi operativi è elevata.
C’è poi il capitolo tecnologico. ATR ha avviato due programmi Clean Aviation, HERACLES e DEMETRA, con l’obiettivo di sviluppare entro il 2029 un dimostratore ibrido-elettrico basato sull’ATR 72-600 . Propulsione ibrida, nuove tecnologie di elica, sistemi elettrificati. È la base dello studio di fattibilità per il futuro concetto EVO. Non è ancora un nuovo programma lanciato, ma è l’inizio di un ciclo tecnologico che servirà a mantenere competitiva la piattaforma nei prossimi anni.
Il management insiste su un punto: in un contesto di costi carburante in crescita e necessità di connettività regionale, il turboprop resta la soluzione economicamente più sostenibile per il corto raggio . È una posizione coerente con il modello ATR, ma che dovrà misurarsi con l’evoluzione del mercato e con l’ingresso di eventuali nuovi attori.
Il 2025, in sintesi, non è stato un anno di espansione produttiva, ma di consolidamento industriale. La domanda c’è. Il backlog è solido. I servizi crescono. Il 2026 diventa l’anno della verifica operativa. Se il ramp-up sarà centrato, ATR potrà trasformare la spinta commerciale in consegne reali. Se le criticità di filiera dovessero prolungarsi, il rischio sarà un disallineamento tra ordini e capacità produttiva.
Al momento, i numeri ufficiali mostrano un costruttore che ha il mercato dalla propria parte, ma che deve ancora dimostrare di poter accelerare con continuità .
